The selected subject is transformed into an image. This happens especially when using living items or those that will perish like fruit or even humans. Alexa's style of painting is ephemeral, and the only thing that remains of Alexa Meade's art is her photographs. Trompe-l'oeil art is created by combining the two techniques of photography and painting. This creates two-dimensional flattened picture. Meade sometimes incorporates painted models in the space surrounding them. It allows them to be part of the world that she created. The distinctions between performance photography, and installation are thus dissolved.
